"Seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened to you. Matt 7:7
Hello and welcome to St. Mark's Chapel. Jesus promised that those who seek shall find and those who knock will have the door opened. At St. Mark's the doors are always open. Night or day you will find the chapel ready to receive you for prayer and quiet contemplation. People come to St. Mark's from all walks of life, and thanks to its location on the campus of the University of Connecticut , from across the state and around the world, from many different faith traditions and from no particular tradition at all. What they hold in common is searching desire, a longing to know God more fully or find answers to questions which challenge their faith, to have support for deepening a quiet confidence in God's never-failing presence or companion who share their frustrations with easy answers that haven't borne the challenges of life, to find a faith community that makes a difference in this world or lift one's heart in hope. On Sunday mornings, there are a variety of different worship opportunities, from an early quiet service at 7:45 to one that welcomes and intentionally includes children at 9 am to a more formal and musically rich worshp at !0:45. Each of these services centers on the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, Holy Communion or Lord's Supper, nourishing body, mind and spirit. Opportunities for learning and growing through study, discussion and art are offered to all ages at 9:45 on Sunday and throughout the week at various times to accommodate different schedules. Take a look at this website for further information, give us a call, or best of all come and see! The door is open and I look forward to meeting you, Nancy+" |
