Dear Friends, an apology for the delay in the News of the Week publication - communications problem. But here it is!:

  • Have you returned your 2019 Pledge Card?  The Vestry is working on the budget for next year and hopes to hear from everyone promptly.
  • Celebration Sunday with a festive brunch will be on December 2 following the 10 am service.
  • Plans are well underway for the next recital in the Brombaugh Organ Rededication Concert Series.  Friday, December 14 at 7pm--readings and carols featuring St. Mark's Organist, Charlie Houmard with Louis Hanzlik on trumpet.  Special guests include UConn's Brass Ensemble and two UConn A cappella groups--Extreme Measures and Chordials.  A festive holiday reception will follow.  Invite a friend.
  • There are a few gift tags left on the Adopt-A-Family board in the narthex.  Many thanks to everyone who has taken a tag or two.  It is a wonderful response!  No tags left?  The following items are always appreciated--Stop and Shop cards (they deliver!), Subway, Walmart, and Amazon gift cards.  Movie passes thrill recipients. Thank you for your generosity.
  • The Advent Wreath Workshop will be on Sunday, December 2 following the 10am service.    Candles and forms will be provided.  Please bring greens, scissors and gloves.  If you still have a wreath form in your holiday box, please bring it in.
  • Last Sunday Offering for November will go to Episcopal Relief and Development which provides aid world wide in health care, small business development, and relief for areas impacted by natural disasters.  ERD has received a matching grant that will double all donations to ERD during the holidays.
  • Homosexuality and the Bible--what does scripture really say?  How does this inform what we believe?  Rev. Brian will lead a discussion on Wednesday, December 12 at 7pm.
