ZEN BUDDHISM AND CHRISTIANITY Part Two August 21st • Wednesday • 6:30 PM At St. Mark’s Episcopal Chapel Please join us for part two of our presentation about the insights gained through the inter-faith dialogue between Christian theologians and Buddhist teachers. On the first night (August 7th), we covered an overview of the basic concepts of Buddhism and explain how Christians such as Merton, Steindl-Rast and Knitter have found similarities to Christian contemplative (apophatic) traditions. During part two, on August 21st, we’ll begin with a question and answer period, followed by an experience of Buddhist meditation, zazen, and a walking meditation, kinhin. August 2, 2019 CAMPUS MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES Help feed hungry college students! September 1st is the first day of Campus Communion. Please call the office if you would like to cook for any of the upcoming evening services. You can drop off a meal or stay to get to know the students. Cook for approximately 15 people. Trivia Prizes needed: St. Mark’s will be hosting a Trivia Night for students on September 12th and are looking for people to donate some trivia prizes.
