This was the first of the monthly Lutheran Morning Prayer Services at St. Mark’s, with the Rev. Bruce Steinway, a retired Lutheran priest and St. Mark’s parishioner officiating. Music was taken from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal, and the service was the Lutheran morning prayer service.

Audio of Announcements, readings, homily and music. Links to printer-ready copies of the service booklet and hymns sheet.

This Sunday's audio was produced from the chapel’s recording system of Rev. Brian’s 9 AM morning prayer service in St. Mark's Chapel on the UCONN Storrs Campus. The audio  extracted from the iPhone recording of the Facebook Live video broadcast has been of such poor quality that I was spending way too much time trying to edit it enough to clarify the spoken word. Included is the accompanying service booklet and hymns sheet.

Music was provided by Will Mandelbaum (soloist) and Charles Houmard
piano, organ).

    "The Work of Christmas" Lyrics:
When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
        The work of Christmas begins:

        To find the lost,
        To heal the broken,
        To feed the hungry,
        To release the prisoner,
        To rebuild the nations,
        To bring peace among brothers,
To make music from the heart.
