Dear Friends:

Happy St. Nicholas Day!  Good Saint Nicholas, show us the way to Bethlehem to see Jesus, the Christ Child, help us to follow your example, sharing Jesus' love with everyone and caring for those in need.

Here is the news of the week:
  • Please return by Sunday all Adopt-A-Family gifts.  Town of Mansfield  Social Services plans to distribute gifts next Tuesday.
  • The Holiday Organ and Brass Concert with readings and carols  is just a week away.  Mark your calendars and bring your friends on  Friday, December 14 at 7pm.   It will be very special indeed.  Many thanks to Charlie Houmard, Anne Flamming, and Mary Jo Tryba for putting together a fun for the whole family event.
  • Donations of non perishable food items are always needed and even more so at holiday time.  And a local animal shelter also needs donations for the animals in their care.  Lydia Wilderman's Girl Scout troop has placed a box by the back door for donations.
  • Christmastide is a season when the church is beautifully decorated in celebration of the Nativity of our Lord.  Poinsettias and a variety of other seasonal plant material transform the church. Donations may be made in memory of departed friends and loved ones as well as in Thanksgiving for special persons, events or occasions important to you.  To donate, please fill out the green form in the bulletin and return it to the church office no later than December 17.
  • End of Year Giving:    All monetary contributions to the church to be recorded for 2018 must be received in the office or postmarked by December 31st.
  • Homosexuality and the Bible--what does scripture really say?  How does this inform what we believe?  Rev. Brian will lead a discussion on Wednesday, December 12 at 7pm.
  • The Stewardship Celebration may be done but it is not too late to return your pledge card.  Prompt return helps the Vestry make budgetary decisions for next year.

  • Wondering how to talk to children about Advent?  Here is a suggested link:
