THE EPISCOPAL BRANCH OF THE JESUS MOVEMENT

The Episcopal Church models itself after the example of Jesus, in whom all are welcome. Following Christ’s call, we participate in God’s mission to make all people free.
What we believe: We believe that God, who is infinite, can be seen, known, and understood in a variety of ways. We are people of deep questioning and curiosity who affirm that doubt isn’t the opposite of belief, but the mark of a true exploration of faith. Walking a middle way between Roman Catholicism and Protestant traditions, we are a worship-oriented church that promotes thoughtful discussion about what God is calling us to do and be.

Who we are: We are part of the Anglican tradition, meaning that we trace our roots in the United States back to the colonial Church of England, and live today as part of a vibrant global communion that blends Anglican tradition with our contemporary context. That combination of tradition and innovation gives the Episcopal Church its distinct feel. At St. Mark’s, our worship often incorporates prayers and songs from around the world and our relationship with the Anglican Communion grounds our commitment to global justice. We love to explore the deeper questions of life and faith, in the context of that deeper grounding.
