Dear Friends:

The burst pipe drama continues!  The new flooring in the hallways has been removed.  Sheet rock in all offices has been cut to allow for drying. The insurance adjuster has visited once and will visit again. The kitchen floor must be replaced.  Sounds like restoration will take a few months. The good news is that the office computer and copier seem to be in good working order. But the lower level is cold as some baseboard heat has been dismantled.  The nursery has become a store room.  Inventory of all damaged items is yet to be done.

Here is the news of the week:
  • Tomorrow is the First Friday Organ Recital from 12-12:30.  Charlie will present a preview of next Wednesday's organ concert. Please bring a sandwich and a friend.
  • David Von Behren, a Yale student for a Masters Degree in Organ Performance, is the organist for the third concert in the Brombaugh Restoration concert series.  David is a delightful 23 year old Nebraskan who is also an accomplished violinist  performing at both Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.  His program will feature works of Mendelssohn and Bach.
  • The budget discussion continues this Sunday. Please plan to attend the second round of budget discussions following the 10am service. Everyone is encouraged to participate and offer creative and prayerful ways of addressing the current serious financial situation.
  • News from Husky Radio:  Rev. Brian’s weekly program on Husky Radio is on Mondays from 1-1:30. This past Monday, the inaugural program of Crossroads featured a conversation with new vestry member Bill Cook on how faith played a role in his professional life and how he lives is faith on a daily basis.  On Monday, February 4 the conversation will be with Madison Day and an neighbor discussing the vocation of parenting.  Check it out!
  • Year end statements will be available for pick up in Narthex this Sunday.

Best wishes, Linda
