ZEN BUDDHISM AND CHRISTIANITY:
August 7th & 21st • Wednesday • 6:30 PM
At St. Mark’s Episcopal Chapel
Please join us for a two part presentation about the insights gained through the inter-faith dialogue between Christian theologians and Buddhist teachers. On the first night (August 7th), we’ll cover an overview of the basic concepts of Buddhism and explain how Christians such as Merton, Steindl-Rast and Knitter have found similarities to Christian contemplative (apophatic) traditions. On the second night (August 21st), we’ll begin with a question and answer period, followed by an experience of Buddhist meditation, zazen, and a walking meditation, kinhin.
THE RESULTS ARE IN!
We have gotten the results of the survey for Various Occasions in August. The results are as follows:
August 4th: For the Nation
August 11th: Social Justice
